The Pixar Theory Timeline

Pixar Theory TimelineSince the initial release of The Pixar Theory, there have been countless changes and updates to the Pixar Theory timeline. Since it can get a little complicated (and nutty), I put together a new and improved outline that follows the book and includes all of the recent and upcoming Pixar movies. Enjoy!

Keep in mind that this is not the full theory. There’s plenty I don’t go over here and there are many missing connections between movies I don’t bring up, so if you want the full Pixar Theory experience with connections, Easter eggs, and explanations for what’s going on, click here to check out the book.

Otherwise, enjoy this full look at the Pixar Theory Timeline, starting with The Good Dinosaur.

Pixar Theory Timeline

BEGIN PART 2

And that’s the Pixar Theory timeline. In a nutshell. A very very very long nutshell. Hope you enjoyed reading it as much I did laying it out, and if you have any questions, confusions, or frustrations, feel free to hit me up in the comments or dig into the full book, which does a lot more to explain what in the world is going on in this timeline.

  1. Couldn’t the witch (a.k.a Boo) use pizza planet trucks to travel through time

    • And what about the wood? It’s supposed that the wood gives Boo the energy to travel through time…

  2. you are a fucking genius! i’m in love with you

  4. The Pixar theory is a really creative way to look at things

  5. I just saw wall- e and i was thinking : can the calendar of monsters starts when humans returns to earth , at the end of wall-e movie (2800-2900).??
In the credits of wall-e we can see humans and machines telling their story and the things they’re doing now with paintings in the walls in a cave ( like cavemans ) and then evolve through time. ( like egyptians, paintings like van gogh’s, etc)
It’s like time and history is starting all over again, and the date can match with monsters university and monsters inc.

    • I respect your opinion and I hope you respect mine but I don’t think that would make sence. This is because monsters weren’t around so why would they start at 0 the y would probably be before 0 so it would be bce before current era so by that standard there would be no reason for them to start their callender there.

      • Well your spelling doesn’t make a lot of sense either

      • Spell correctly so people can understand you plz. I’m prty sre pepl dnt flly no wt I’m syng. Point. But I do respect of what I can understand about your idea. Please be more clear of what you mean by starting from 0.

        • What exactly is hard to understand? ‘y’ obviously means ‘year’ and ‘bce’ is ‘before common era’.

  6. First off, A Bug’s Life cannot take place after everything since they make a cameo on Toy Story when buzz cuts the branch. Secondly, A bug’s life trailer is also where Randall from Monster’s inc goes.

    • This is a short version. It is explained that the doors in Monster’s Inc. travel through time, so Randal goes to it when there is still people. Now about the cameo….the best explanation I heard was that Boo accidentally took them with her..

  7. Hey! Someone in my Facebook group shared this website with
us so I came to take a look. I’m definitely loving the information.
I’m bookmarking and will be tweeting this to

  8. You forgot to mention the guy who voices Ham from Toy story (Underminer from The Incredibles; The termite running the circus in A Bug’s Life;Captain from Wall-e;etc.)

    • And the shadow of Dug in Ratitoe, and Wall-e briefly speeding across the pit stop in the beginning of Cars.

  9. Why is the timeline different then the theory written on this website?

    • I don’t know anyone have any ideas?

  10. Any theories out there about marvel comics?

  11. Pretty great post. I simply stumbled upon your weblog and wanted to mention that I’ve truly loved surfing around your blog posts.

In any case I will be subscribing for your feed and I hope you write once more
    very soon!

  12. um I’m pretty sure the world would of froze by then considering the sun is slowly burning out. haha but whatever you say man!

  13. IIIITT MAAAKKES TOOTAL SENSE NOW dang I never thought that Pixar movies were this connected. :3

  14. I think the transition from animals to monsters might not be so much the sending off or eradication of humans but maybe the joining or mutating of humans and animals (and not leaving enough of human to power the machines.) this would also promote the idea that the machines would want to remove a human history and say that they are “dangerous”.

  15. none of this works since at first boo wouldn’t have been back in time, since you cant start out older in the past then younger in the future, so there wouldn’t have been a witch in the past for all this to happen, so boo wouldn’t have been able to travel back in time and be that witch, since none of that woulda happened until she went back in time to cause all of that.

    • Lol I posted after you. 2 minds think alike eh?

  16. The only thing that doesn’t work for me is how boo is a witch in the past, but sully can go farther and technology exists. Boo’s room has lighting and electricity, unless boo traveled back in time and stayed there because of something. I fully agree with you, but I’m confused from that part. Please address my question and update so other his can be clarified. Thanks so much!

    • Boo as a kid live during the time of the Toy Story movies, when she is older she travels back in time.

      • Finally an response from someone who understands lol. I cinstantly see people saying oh it doesn’t make sense because of all these reason completely negating the fact that we’re talking about TIME TRAVEL. lol thank you for a refreshing post.

  17. You said the tree appeared in “Up” which in your timeline occurs long before the “Boot tree” came about.

  18. I recently watched one of the movies and I found your placing of it to be incorrect. The movie Ratatouille had a few features that stated it was way before 2007 (black and white TV’s and the cars look older and more round looking).

Also, you notice that whenever Colette and Linguini are rollerskating during the Le Festin montage, you see Incredible’s villain Bon Voyage! I’m guessing it was BEFORE Incredibles (with the key thing being Ego mentioning Chef Boyardee who set up his factory in 1930), so Ratatouille could be set up between 1930’s-1960’s but NOT 2007.

  19. When wall e is “playing” with the fire extinguisher on earth there is a bnl logo on it 😉

  20. I <3 ah a fellow childhood conspericy theorist

  21. And when u talked about “newts” the purple lizard (_and possibly a newt so newts and monsters inc are connected)

  22. In regards to Monsters University being built in the year 1313 I wanted to make note in my opinion as one who grew up loving the munsters . . . . Their address was 1313 🙂 I believe that Pixar was paying homage to the munsters by using their address as the year the university was built. Therefor connecting the munsters/monsters with the numbers 1313. But other wise I’ve very much enjoyed your theory.
