Top 5 Supporting Characters (Anyway, That’s All I Got)

supporting characters

In honor of R. Lee Ermey, who sadly passed away this week, we decided to count down our 5 favorite supporting characters from a whole litany of movies. We quickly realized that we had bitten off more than we could chew with this massive topic, because there are literally MILLIONS of supporting characters, but we decided to give it a shot anyway!

Question for you: Who are some of your favorite supporting characters from movies? Also, what do you think it truly takes to be a good supporting character?

Top 5 Most Suspenseful Movies (Anyway, That’s All I Got)

suspenseful movies

In honor of the release of A Quiet Place, the ATAIG crew got together to count down their top 5 most suspenseful movies. Suspenseful movies are a very broad, personal, and subjective topic, so our lists ended up being very diverse and indicative of our own sensibilities. There are plenty of obvious choices, but there are also plenty of surprising revelations along the way…

Question for you: What are your favorite suspenseful movies? Also, what tends to get under your skin when it comes to suspense in general?

The Wes Anderson Episode (Anyway, That’s All I Got)

wes anderson

This week on Anyway, That’s All I Got, we decided to tackle Wes Anderson’s entire filmography in a broad, chronological overview. We start in 1994 with the original Bottle Rocket and work all the way forward to the newly-released Isle of Dogs. We all have a variety of strong opinions on his filmography, so this discussion takes some very interesting turns.

Question for you: Are you a Wes Anderson fan? If so, why? If not, why not? Also, do you enjoy our weekly recommendation segment?
Let us know in the comments or email us at ataigpodcast@gmail.com with your feedback.

Movies Worth Seeing With Family (Anyway, That’s All I Got)

family

We’re back! And we decided to come back in a nostalgic, whimsical way by discussing the movies we watched with our families. Special guest Guy Simons joins us to reminisce about the viewing experiences we’ve had with various family members and how that compares with what we watch now.

It’s obviously a very nostalgic episode filled to the brim with tangents and bad jokes (mostly by Sam). We talk about The BirdcageBig FishPoint BreakPlanet of the Apes, and plenty more with special guest Guy Simons. We hope you enjoy listening, and we’d love to know what some of your most memorable viewing experiences are. It’s a very personal topic, so we’d be really happy to hear your input.

Oscars Winners That Actually Deserved To Win (Anyway, That’s All I Got)

oscars winners

It’s been a week or two since the Oscars, so we decided to recap some of the winners from this year. Oddly, we all felt relatively satisfied with how things turned out in 2018 (minus one or two categories, but hey, we get into that). Afterward, we go back in time to talk about some films from the past that have won big awards, specifically winners we actually agree with for once.

We’d love to know what some of your favorite Oscar Winners are, and what you thought about this year’s ceremony, plus any topics and ideas you’d like us to discuss in the future!

Our Guilty Pleasure Movies (Anyway, That’s All I Got)

guilty pleasure

This week, we decided to have a laid-back discussion about our guilty pleasure movies: the movies we kind of like, but don’t want to admit it. It’s a free-flowing conversation, basically, and a chance for us hosts to learn a lot more about each other’s tastes and…weaknesses?

Let us know what you think of this format, and also let us know what some of your guilty pleasure movies are! They can come from anywhere, so we’d love to know what you take (guilty) pleasure in. Also, since everyone has their own definition, what does the phrase ‘guilty pleasure’ mean to you? And finally, what do you want to hear from the show? Are there any topics, franchises, or formats that you would be interested to hear us talk about?

Top 5 Worst Remakes of All Time (Anyway, That’s All I got)

worst remakes

For our second episode, we’re following up last week’s “best remakes” by discussing the other side of remakes: The Bad Side. We take a little time at the beginning to get to know the hosts a bit more, and then we get into our lists, highlighting the worst remakes of all time. Needless to say, we had some stuff to get off our chests.

We’d love to hear what some of your least favorite remakes are, or what we might have missed, and we’d also love to see your ‘Cinemaholic Bios.’ Comment below and let us know!
