The first Deadpool was a parody of the superhero genre, and so is Deadpool 2 in a lot of ways. But watching the movie recently, I came away with the conclusion that this sequel is more about the superhero genre’s fans, lampooning us and our expectations going into these summer franchise flicks.
To explain this, I took to my trusty YouTube Channel Jon In Theory the other day and rambled into a microphone. It’s not the shortest video, but hopefully some of you will find it interesting. This is less of a review and more of a spoiler analysis from the perspective of someone a bit mixed on the film.
I’m still experimenting with this new video-style format, so if you have any feedback, I want to hear it. In terms of content, I have a lot of ideas, but most of them involve lesser-known movies I’m not sure a lot of you will want to hear about, like You Were Never Really Here, one of my favorites of the year so far. Let me know if I’m way off with that assumption.
Hi Jon,
I, for one, have problems with the audio on my computer. (I think we need a new one, but being retired, money is short).
Anyway, is there any way that you can offer a transcript of your videos? I can watch along, but the stupid “Closed Captions” usually guess at what is being said.
Sometimes this is really funny, but I would like to know what is going on..
If you can do that, please?
Awesome videos man keep em comin
