Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the only film we talked about on this week’s podcast, and boy did we talk for a while. Will Ashton and Maveryke Hines joined me for a three-pronged discussion.
First, we shared our thoughts on the entire Star Wars filmography so far in order to give an overall impression of where we’re at with these movies going into The Last Jedi. Next, our spoiler-free review of the film. Finally, we dove into a full spoiler discussion, so keep an ear out for our spoiler warning and transition music.
Because we recorded this episode on Friday, some of the negative backlash to the film had already come to light, giving us a chance to address some of it throughout our review. Agree? Disagree? Sound off in the comments.
As most of you already know, our show is only possible because so many of you are spreading the word and sharing episodes with friends. We’re truly humbled by your emails, comments, and genuine interest in allowing Cinemaholics to continue. Thanks, all.
If you’re interested in continuing to help us out, there are three easy, painless ways to do so:
- Email us! Tell us what you love and hate about the show by emailing cinemaholicspodcast(at)gmail.com. And please ask us questions we can share over the air.
- Leave us a review on Apple Podcasts. Yes, yes, I know it’s a hassle, but doing this ensures that our podcast stays afloat as we pay our bills and bring on new guests. For those of you who’ve already done this, thanks again for taking the time.
- Join our Facebook community. We’re steadily growing and finding new ways to talk to you all, and it’s great to find listeners from YouTube and podcasts mingling in the same group. Thanks again to all of you who’ve liked the page already.

Teen Titans reference FTW.
I’m in the camp that loves how this movie dismantles J.J. Abrams’s mystery boxes like a trash compactor.
WILL ASHTON WATCH AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER THANKS.
Will you guys do a Christmas special?
On one hand…it’s weird we have a Star Wars franchise basically making things up as they go along from director to director.
On the other hand…thank god Rian Johnson changed everything.
Also yes Will Ashton needs to see Avatar yesterday.
Best Star Wars movie ever.
Remember the part when Gordo scored a goal
You know, Star Wars the Last Jedi was different from Brigsby.
Can someone please explain the “William Tyler” thing
You mean Bill Action?
Tyler is my middle name. Jon just likes to bring it up. I couldn’t tell you the reason, though. 🙂
Nice try Bill Action
the milk was green. Done. End of story
