Ep111: What We’re Watching In December

december

We’ve watched a lot of movies this year, but as we wind down in December, what are the movies we plan to check out in theaters and at home? Featuring special guest and the film critic’s film critic, Will Ashton.

This week, we talked a lot about early reactions to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and did our standard Show & Tell segment toward the end of the show for a change.

You can also download this podcast episode on iTunes and Stitcher.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK: What was your favorite superhero movie of 2016, if any? Also, what movie from 2016 do you want to see the most that you missed in theaters?

Let us know your thoughts (and your favorite podcast moments) in the comments, which we may read on next week’s show! 1. Captain America: Civil War (it and Doctor Strange were the only superhero movies I saw). I’d like to see 10 Cloverfield Lane and Captain Fantastic. I’d like to see Hacksaw Ridge as well (I know it’s still in theaters, but I probably won’t get around to seeing it in time).

  2. Captain America Civil War. It’s Batman V Superman done right.
PS My dad and I rented the movie Deadpool and saw the first few minutes of it, but it was too raunchy for my dad’s taste and I would clearly not be in a better situation if I watched it so my dad and I returned the movie.

  3. I’m so glad you talked about The Stanford Prison Experiment and We Need to Talk About Kevin, those movies are so haunting and they really made me a fan of Ezra Miller. I need to see a screenshot of Will in Perks so can someone get on that please!! I don’t have a favorite superhero movie because I’ve only seen 2 this year, and there really aren’t any movies I’ve missed that I want to see because I think I’ve seen all that I’m interested in so far. But I will say that you two are coming to Ohio for Christmas and I’m in Ohio too just living and stuff so that’s great. And Kayla saying Jon has no friends was hilarious

So I guess thats my favorite!

Have any of you guys watched The Clone Wars/Rebels?
I was a little put off by the animation at first, but am now really enjoying it.

  5. My favorite superhero movie of 2016 is civil war because I only saw 2 and the other one was batman vs superman and I want the drama of that to die with 2016. I plan to watch the first. X men movie soon because I have never seen any of them. And Sam I have a question for you, do you like the dark knight trilogy?
