‘Pan’ Review; What is Your Favorite Prequel?

pan review

This week on the podcast, Kayla and I express our mutual disdain for Pan while Adonis listens intently from his closet. We also review Sleeping With Other People, which stars Alison Brie (Community) and Jason Sudeikus (We’re the Millers).

As always, we start the show with some quick movie news, including a ton of new information about Disney’s upcoming animated film, Moana. Plus, we answer your feedback from last week’s comments.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK: What is your favorite prequel?

Let us know your thoughts (and your favorite podcast moments) in the comments, which we may read on next week’s show! And be sure to rate the podcast on iTunes and/or Stitcher, where you can also download this episode. Or just Tweet us…@NowConspiring

Our Song of the Week is “Could Have Been Me” by The Struts. All ads on the show are fake. We aren’t sponsored. I don’t even think that’s possible. Enjoy!

  2. is there a way to unsuscribe from your movie reviews but not from your pixar theory emails?

  3. Monsters University. I can’t get enough of it.

  4. MONSTERS UNIVERSITY!

  5. My favourite prequel is Monsters University. I really like the focus on Mike.
Also, what is your favourite Pixar character? I really want to know.
Love your podcast and your theories.

    • For me, it’s got to be Remy from Ratatouille. Good luck getting Jon to decide on just one though.

      • Thanks for answering Adonis, I love Remy too, and hope Jon will make his mind. I have always had that question.

  6. Greetings, conspirers and hello Adonis. I’m sure you must be wondering why I don’t like The Lion King. The reason is that I think most of the songs are repetitive and annoying, the humor falls flatter than a pancake in a wildebeast stampede. Too soon? Moving on. I think the end is anti-climactic and unearned, and the whole movie in general is unmemorable to me. I do think there are some good things, like the music, some of the songs, and the visuals, and I get why people would love it, but I just don’t. I much prefer Aladdin or Beauty and the Beast. In better written news, my favorite prequel is probably RISE of the planet of the apes, but some I wanted to mention are Prometheus, Psycho IV, and Ewoks: the Battle for Endor. Not to mention Interstellar, the prequel to WALL-E. Also, I hate to be needy, but what happened to the Netflix recommendation? This week, mine is Almost Famous. Farewell, and look both ways before you cross the street of life.

    • I want Netflix recs too!

  7. Well, I just saw The Martian and I can safely rank my favorites of the 3 recent space movies:

    Interstellar
    Gravity
    The Martian

P.S. are any of you on Letterboxd?

  8. My favorite prequel is Red Dragon. Probably even my favorite horror movie after Scream. And The Shining. And Final Thoughts. And Psycho. And I Know What You Did Last Summer. But still in my top ten. Sorry I got off topic.

    • We had to record late, so a new episode won’t be coming until later today!
