‘Sicario’ & ‘The Intern’ Review; Which Classic Cartoon Needs a Gritty Reboot?

sicario review

This week on the podcast, we review two new films: the “war on drugs” action thriller, Sicario, and the Nancy Meyers feel-good comedy, The Intern. We also talk about new information coming out of Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur, Drew Barrymore’s bombshell news about her acting career, and a lot more.

As always, we read your comments from last week and get down to business on this week’s discussion. Speaking of which…

QUESTION OF THE WEEK: Which classic cartoon should get a gritty reboot?

Let us know your thoughts (and your favorite podcast moments) in the comments, which we may read on next week’s show! And be sure to rate the podcast on iTunes and/or Stitcher, where you can also download this episode. Or just Tweet us…@NowConspiring

Our Song of the Week intro-ing the show is “Ex’s and Oh’s” by Elle King.

  1. The Cartoon Reboot that should happen are the following
Jimmy Neutron, Danny Phantom, Invader Zim, Samurai Jack, and the original Teen Titans (Written by the writers of Arrow and The Flash).

Also, you forgot to do Hotel Transylvania 2 in the podcast. I think it’s because you are focusing all your efforts on the Good Dinosaur or you people hated the movie to a point where you don’t want it on your podcast.

  2. The Pixar Detective Spinoff is on Hiatus for a bit because I need to focus on other stuff and lack of motivation for it, but the Interstellar Heroes one is still going strong. 3 more chapters to go until Arc 1 ends.

The Hiatus might be short due to Negroni tweeting “Good Things are coming for Pixar Detective Fans” I don’t know what, but I think that the last parts of The Pixar Detective will finally be released and I could finally get the motivation to continue!

  3. Obviously Dora the Explorer needs a gritty reboot. Too easy.

  4. Also I want to give my thoughts on The Green Inferno since you guys will never watch it. It was alright. Its just Eli Roth stuff, if you like his work you will love this movie. If not than this movie isn’t for you. It had some jokes that are supposed to be funny but just seemed unnecessary and at times were just not good. But in the end it gave what I wanted from this, a lot of blood and death. Its a C for me.

  5. Samurai Jack. Please. Now.

  6. The original Teen Titans, obviously.

  7. I think Kim Possible should get a gritty reboot. Also Kick Ass 4?! Adonis please don’t make a fourth movie. Fourth movies usually suck. Cough cough, Jurassic World, cough. But hey, who knows, it is Adonis, so it has some hope.

    • Jurassic World was good.
      Mission Impossible 4 was amazing.
Toy Story 4 is predicting to be good.
Also including James Bond, Rocky, and Star Trek Movies

      • Jurassic World sucked. I agree with the rest though. I did not say all 4th movies were bad.

  8. Alright, let’s cut to the chase. I was putting Jon and Adonis into a relationship and simply combining their names in order to illicit laughter. However, I do like the idea of creating some bizarre species from you two, with one half saying witty remarks, with the other half desperately try to live up to the first half while they keep asking people to read their screenplay for Kill Bill Volume 3. Check back next week for Kaymalaria Garsavciage, the being of both Kayla and Maria.

P.S. I reccomend To Kill A Mockingbird on Netflix.

  9. I wonder what a gritty reboot of Futurama would be like?

  10. Kick Ass 4? More like Kick Adonis 4 fun! Shia Labeouf would agree.

    • Dude that sucked. Stick to Shia Labeouf jokes.

  11. Kick-Ass 4? Please. Kick-Ass 3 2. #Kick-Ass3WillNotDie.

Beside the real points, I think we need a gritty Darkwing Duck.
