Love Instagram? I sure do, but I rarely use hashtags for a few simple reasons:
-
They’re obnoxious.
-
They detract from the caption.
-
I don’t know which to use…
Tagstagram aims to solve at least one of those problems by being a hashtag generator app.
Available on iPhone and Android, Tagstagram allows you to choose a category, such as entertainment, nature, food, etc. and generate high-quality hashtags for your photos.
The app is pretty simple in its layout, though some basic features are still missing. You can copy the hashtags through a simple plugin on the app, but you have to paste them manually on your Instagram photo. From there, you also have to delete any unwanted hashtags that would otherwise clutter your post.
Down the road, I’d like to see a feature where hashtags generate automatically for your photos, perhaps through a prompt on your camera roll.
Still, the app does as advertised and provides relevant, popular hashtags so that you don’t have to. Tagstagram is especially useful for brands that want to save some time on researching trending topics by using this as their hashtag tool.
Tagstagram is available for free via the App Store and Google Play, though I recommend getting the pro version for $.99 if you happen to like it.

Such a great idea for an app! I know so many people who are chronically terrified of #hashtags
