The Pixar Theory Timeline

Pixar Theory TimelineSince the initial release of The Pixar Theory, there have been countless changes and updates to the Pixar Theory timeline. Since it can get a little complicated (and nutty), I put together a new and improved outline that follows the book and includes all of the recent and upcoming Pixar movies. Enjoy!

Keep in mind that this is not the full theory. There’s plenty I don’t go over here and there are many missing connections between movies I don’t bring up, so if you want the full Pixar Theory experience with connections, Easter eggs, and explanations for what’s going on, click here to check out the book.

Otherwise, enjoy this full look at the Pixar Theory Timeline, starting with The Good Dinosaur.

Pixar Theory Timeline

BEGIN PART 2

And that’s the Pixar Theory timeline. In a nutshell. A very very very long nutshell. Hope you enjoyed reading it as much I did laying it out, and if you have any questions, confusions, or frustrations, feel free to hit me up in the comments or dig into the full book, which does a lot more to explain what in the world is going on in this timeline.

  1. it only makes sense that A Bug’s Life is on the same time that Cars. there’s no humans and both machines and animals could be libing together duplicating humans behaviors without interfering on each other

    • LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING LIBING

    • But if A Bug’s Life takes place during the Cars period, and everything dies off during the Wall-E period, then there is nothing to evolve into the Monsters, thus deleting the whole Monsters and Boo being the witch from Brave portion of the theory.

      • Bugs Life takes place after the Cars and Wall-E period. When the humans (very few humans) in Wall-E came back the brought the earth back and eventually animals came back and they mutated into monsters. You should read the full theory instead of just the timeline

        • You should read the full comment thread instead of just one comment…

  2. Just wanna say that monsters eat thrash and don’t mind smelly stuff, maybe because that was the avaliable stuff and environment on earth that they had access to because the world was destroyed.

  3. He forgot to put ariel and beauty and the beast who shows the intercourse between human and animals that end with “monsters” after humans return on earth |3000-4500|

    • Those aren’t Pixar movies

      • You probly just looked at the timeline and didnt read the theory….he says every movie since Toy Story is connected. The little mermaid and beauty and the beast came out before toy story

  4. The events of walle take place in 2815. I know this because a song created for the movie that is used when showing different sceneries and the horror of the state of the earth. The song is titled 2815 A.D. and thus infers that’s when the movie took place. Also we can infer that walle was not in space for an extended period of time because his (pet) cockroach is still in the same spot when walle returns

  5. How does the fact that Woody, Bullseye, Jessie, and Stinky Pete all would have been created pre-space race (1957) factor into the AI evolution occuring after (and possibly in the very early stages) if they existed simultaneously (or prior to) with the events depicted in “The Incredibles”?

  6. Jon, found you through my friend Jeff Gomez. You are brilliant, brother.

  7. I just watched Cars and it seems to take place within the past sixty or so years. We see the construction of I 40 during the late 1950’s. this is about the time I 40 was constructed in the Southwest in our world. We know that the I 40 constructed in the world of Cars happened around that time because of the years labeled on the Piston Cups that Hudson Hornet won. I propose that Cars takes place in an alternate Universe that closely resembles ours where Cars and other machines have become sentient beings. I believe that this could fit into the theory of Boos travels through time, and that by traveling through time she is inadvertainly creating alternate realities with every door she passes through, such as inadvertently bringing sentient machines back from the future and causing human kind to go extinct in the relatively recent past and somehow leading to an alternate timeline where the machines have taken much of their personality from human kind.

  8. I think he has A Bugs Life incorrectly placed on the timeline bcuz the pizza delivery truck that buzz and woody ride in in Toy Story appears in Bugs Life. Also in Toy Story 2 when the toys are making their way to the toy barn store u see Buzz chop a branch and the ant and caterpillar from Bugs Life can be seen walking on the branch b4 buzz chops it dpwn

    • But assuming Boo has made her way through all these time periods, she could have placed the truck in the Bugs Life period. When Boo becomes Witch Boo, she has pizza planet truck made out of wood in her workshop.

    • This was actually an joke scene. It wasn’t in the actual movie

  9. So how is Planes going to fit in to all of this?

  10. MAN, it just hit me! 1313 IS in the dark ages!!

  11. Very interesting read. Reminds me of the hours i spent reading Lost theories. Have you seen the show? If so, curious to read what your take on it is.

  12. im not sure if this is totally correct.

  13. In Cars we can see that Radiator Springs was founded in 1909 by Stanley. So, according to your theory, back when humans where still on earth. How do you explain that?
