avatar the next airbender

This week on the podcast, we bring on a guest cast to discuss the future of the Avatar universe, made famous by the Last Airbender series. This episode is a must for any fans of the hit animated show.

Maria helps with hosting duties by covering Movie Releases and Feedback, with Sam and Adonis filling in while Kayla and I are on vacation. Yikes.

  1. FOILED AGAIN!! I’ll get my revenge on you Adonis, Sam, and Maria! You’ll see, I will bring success to my revolution.

On a more serious note, I don’t have much to contribute to the Question of the Week, so here:

  2. Hey everyone, I want to apologize in advance for the background noise on my end…you know how family members can be.

Anyway, in regards to how you can correspond with me, I found a website where you can ask me all of your burning questions that I will probably answer:
    https://ask.fm/Samwise96

  3. Specifically, I would do only two seasons with 26 episodes each. NO twin avatars, that’s stupid and NO comics, the comics are awful.

  4. Before I get to the question of the week, I feel obligated to point out that Jenny called Sam a musk ox, as in the animal. And it was a quote from the compliment-savvy Leslie Knope of Parks and Recreation.

Back to the question: Jon, your idea of following both a dark and a light avatar was definitely inspired and after spending far too long contemplating over whether I could come up with something better or equally as good (spoiler alert: I cannot), I commend you for your awesome idea. Though, you did leave the title open for deliberation. Under the assumption this will be a video game, I believe I’ve come up with a rather decent one. “Avatar: The Balancing Act.”

    • Yes! Thank you for getting my reference

        • My apologies girls. It was very late and I was jealous of people trying to take Sam out of my basement. I totally got the sentiment though.

  5. When Maria said Spiderman wasn’t a good superhero my heart sank and got thrown into the same trash can all the Kick Ass 3 blu-ray.

  6. Okay, so it appears I’ve caused trouble in Paradise, and for that you have my sincerest apologies (although I am completely down to go on Dr. Phil with Adonis and Sam). HOWEVER. I would like to state that I was quoted out of context by RAK – I would like to clarify that I have a friend crush on Sam, meaning that first and foremost I really would like to have him as a friend. You know, friendship. That elusive thing.

And Kayla, a thousand times yes to a GOOD avatar video game – I remember playing the one you mentioned, and you’re right. It was terrible.

  7. Sam is like Shia LaBeouf…

  8. Avatar holds a very dear place in my heart. It came out when I was very young and I loved it. As I grew older and older I grew to understand more and more. I remember watching marathons where it had the commentary text all over it every time it came on. I have only seen a couple of episodes of Kora and I’ve been meaning to watch it for a while. I already know spoilers sadly, but I don’t think it will take away too much of the experience. I also really need to read some of those comics. I’ve only read the original four books that are just the original show.

Anyway, I want to explore more kinds of bending. There’s a chart I saw where it has all the kinds of bending and how they’re related, like how water leads to blood and fire leads to lightning. I saw that air could lead to sound which sounds awesome. How cool would it be to see sound bending?

I really think an epic video game would be great, but I also love Jon’s idea. Sorry for the long comment (again)
