  1. None of them, but I do enjoy P!NK’s new single for Alice Through the Looking Glass though.

  2. Mulan is without a doubt the live action Disney movie I’m looking forward to the most. I love when female characters are actually able to fight or fend for themselves. Not because of gender equality (though that is a factor) but because it’s about time people realize what females are capable of. And I’m not just talking about the men who think that women can’t do anything because we’re “physically inferior”. I’m talking about the women and girls who think they can’t even attempt to fight someone, or they can’t do a pull-up, or they can’t become a pilot, or they can’t go to war for what they believe in. Mulan was, and still is, the Disney princess I loved the most because she didn’t apologize for who she was and she just was an awesome human being. We need more characters like her in the world to show the full extent to what we as a race are capable of, and not just as a gender.

  3. There are three upcoming Disney live action remakes I am looking forward to, I watched them all many many times growing up, Dumbo, the sword in the stone and Mulan. They all have the potential to be great, although they could all end up being terrible if they aren’t made right, like with Mulan, who is going to play Mushu? Because I can’t imagine any one other than Eddie Murphy playing the character.

  4. I know you guys are probably tired of being witness to my weird fangirling over Sam every time he’s on as a guest, so I’ll make this quick – how do you just continue to be so…awesome, you beautiful, talented, brilliant, powerful musk ox.

A little factoid that I stumbled upon and thought I’d share with you guys – the reason James Cameron decided to add more sequels to the Avatar franchise is because he saw a tweet that said (and I’m paraphrasing) “it’s weird how Avatar broke box office records and yet no one can name five characters or quote a line” and decided he would make four more out of spite.

If only I had the means to make movies out of spite.

Anyways, as a Chinese person, I always love to see us represented in mainstream media, so yes! Mulan! Bonus if Ming-Na Wen reprises the role. Other than being just an all around amazing person that should be casted in everything, she wouldn’t even need a stunt double. winks and makes finger guns at Disney

  5. I’ve said it before quietly in my head, and i’ll say it again only this time out loud: Sam needs to be a podcast regular. I don’t know what “it” is, but he’s got it. I feel like he just blends in so naturally with you guys, and the humor is much-needed since Mike Overkill disappeared to become a famous Overkiller.

  6. Dear Now Conspiring, please please please record an episode with my friend Jenny Pan and Sam together since she loves you guys so much and is just completely enamored with him. She gets so excited even when you mention her name on the podcast, and I can think of nothing that would give her greater joy than to meet all of you wonderful and talented people. Anyways, in regards to the question of the week I’m probably most looking forward to the Beauty and the Beast remake since I like Emma Watson and Dan Stevens, (apart from Sybil’s death on Downton Abbey Matthew’s hurt me the most). It’s the only one I really know of that’s being made, since I’m not that into the genre. Anyways, please head my request!!!

    • I would have Jenny and Sam over any day. It’s all up to Jon’s mercy and let’s face it… he has none. Maybe Adonis can persuade him.

  7. Dear those that currently conspire,

Due to Sam’s gracious comment about my writing style, I shall tweak it a bit. Today, I sit ‘ere and write this in order for you to receive some feedback based on the inner machinations of my mind.

I was able to experience the pleasure of watching the recently released Walt Disney movie known as the Jungle Book, unfortunately, I have made the grave error of watching this movie in a car where a projector projects the image on a large screen in front. I say error, because the darker scenes were especially hard to understand, and I missed many of the SPOILER SPOILER??? Shere Kahn and Mowgli fight. end of SPOILER SPOILER. I believed this to be a fine film. (”Twas a double feature along with Zootopia, in which it ‘Twas my very first time visualizing either of these two movies. Both Mother and Father enjoyed Zootopia much more). I am looking most forward to Walt Disneys upcoming project Cruella De Vil, as I find her to be a particularly compelling character with an underdeveloped backstory. Why does she loathe young pups? (Forgive me if this has all been explained, I haven’t seen 101 Doggies in plenty of a time.

I have a great idea. The show could have not one, but TWO commentuers at a time. Then three, until, alas, the commentuers outnumber the regular hosts in a single podcast. Then the hosts begin to mysteriously vanish, one at a time, and we create a Commentuer Revolution.

  8. I’m looking forward to Mulan because I want to see how much of my childhood can be ruined. I also have a netflix recommendation of the week. It is a movie called Hush. It is a horror movie about this author who is deaf and mute that lives in the woods and this guy is trying to break in. I really liked it, I gave it a A- and you guys should check it out.

  9. Can you talk about the resemblance between the disney’s classical characters ? Like lady tremaine and madame bonfamille or mother gothel and the evil queen. I’m thinking about it so long time and I can’t find an answer. Maybe you have a theory about it LOL
