The Pixar Detective, Chapter 15: “Atom”

Hey everyone! Welcome to The Pixar Detective, a serial novel I put together based on the Pixar Theory. The following is a fictional story that explains the theory that all of the Pixar movies are connected and exist within the same universe, using original characters and artwork. The story answers a lot of questions you may have about this theory, but through its own ongoing narrative.

The story originally launched in April, and since then we’ve finished Part 1 and Part 2!

Both are available as iBooks on iTunes, which you can check out here. If you can’t use iBooks, can also download the PDF versions:

Part 1: (PDF version)

Part 2: (PDF version)

Once you’re finished, check back to our Table of Contents, where we’ll be continuing the story through Part 3. A new chapter is released every two weeks on Tuesdays. And please be sure to leave your feedback in the comments for us to read through. Enjoy!

PREVIOUSLY, ON THE PIXAR DETECTIVE:

Trapped! Our heroes have been split up after crossing through a door leading to the monster world. Stevin Parker, who is still on his quest to find Mary, awoke on a rooftop near the leader of his recent foes, Cara, who happens to be a descendant of the Incredibles.

Elsewhere, the world’s first super, Sadie, also awoke in chains beside a former foe: Logan, the fire-spewing daughter of Dash Parr! It wasn’t long before the two of them teamed up to escape the van that was transporting them to an unknown location in the world of monsters.

Finally, Willem, Florence and Peaches, the agents pursuing Stevin, Sadie, Wallaby and Mr. Sumner, were investigating the crime scene where the group escaped to the monster world when an unknown figure appeared, claiming to be a man named Shelby Forthright. Who is this man, and what does he want with the time-traveling Hexagon agents? Find out in Chapter 15: Atom.

  1. Kayla, your artwork is AWESOME and AMAZING! I mean it, it brings to life in so many ways! I hope I see you and your work some day.

To Jon, I need to understand what happened because the story split in 4.
    Let me do this…
    1. The people of Hexagon were arrested by Shelby Forthright of BnL
    2. Wallaby and Mr. Sumner (Why are they not in this chapter?) Are in the monster world finding for a way out or with Ross
    3. Stevin and Cara ended up stranded in the Wall-E World
    4. Logan and Sadie are trapped in the monster world and just escaped the van, and are now looking to survive
That is what I think of the story so far

    • Don’t worry! You’re following along correctly for sure. And there’s an explanation for what’s going on, of course, and it all comes together.

In regards to Wallaby and Sumner, they’ll be getting their due in the next chapter. I can’t jump around too much, and I didn’t want to write them in just for the sake of mentioning them.

      • Oh, I think I read them as one part united instead of separate

  2. Yet another amazing chapter. I totally did not expect them to end up lost in the time with no humans and even come in contact with an EVE. Also i love that this chapter mentioned Edna Mode, she is one of my favorite characters of all time.
P.S. Kayla, saying that the ilustrations are amazing just wouldnt cut it, they are super duper amazingly off the charts awesome, they are the bomb.com.co.uk.gov.edu

    • Just to let you know, Kayla read your comment and as usual, she doesn’t believe it. Strange right?

  3. I just noticed something…How is Sadie and Logan involved with Sanderson and Marley and the human money have anything to do with the main story?!?! Or are they just there to show how to cope with the situation?
PS I notice that Sanderson is actually George Sanderson from Monsters Inc. Marley…I don’t know about.

    • Good catch with Sanderson! Marley is just is his wife (he’s too nice of a guy to not get hitched, I reckon). Their struggles here are to illustrate what’s been going on since they got lost in Monstropolis, and this scene was sort of an introduction to what they’ve been doing to survive.

  4. I love this whole story and To Kayla, your art is absolutely fantastic. It was awesome that you mentioned Edna Mode, as she is one of y all time favorite characters. I also see your reference to the no cape rule in incredibles.

  5. Jon please respond to this. How is cars in the future if the newspaper with Doc’s crash says 1950 something? Did the cars reset the calendar? Also the kind of car doc is was around in the 1960s. Also I love your book and eagerly await tomorrow!

    • Thanks, John! Normally, I answer questions like this on the Pixar Theory page, though sometimes comments get passed me on there.

I have a HUGE Cars theory that I’ve yet to release. It basically explains exactly how they fit in this universe in a way that I think is pretty convincing. It’s coming out in my book (not Pixar Detective, but a book that just focuses on the Pixar Theory) which will be coming out soon.

      • That is AWESOME Jon!! I can’t wait!! I have always wondered how cars really fit into it all. I am highly anticipating it!!

      • You’re writing a book based on the Pixar Theory?
Don’t you need rights permissions or something?

  6. I found another thing. The piston cup doc won says 1951 next to it if you look closely. And great illustrations Kayla!

  7. I’m so sorry! I keep getting my facts wrong. In cars 2 at the scene in the museum when lightning is looking at a newspaper sadly you can see 1951 next to doc’s piston cup.
