The First Inside Out Teaser Is Pretty Much Everything You Want.

Details surrounding Pixar’s next big film (and first original since Brave) have been scarce to say the least. But that’s changed with the release of the first ever teaser (and footage) of Inside Out. It begins with an extended look at some of Pixar’s greatest hits and explores the idea of what makes us love these movies to begin with: emotion.

Check out the full teaser below:

Inside Out comes to US theatres in 3D on June 19, 2015.

From an adventurous balloon ride above the clouds to a monster-filled metropolis, Academy Award®-winning director Pete Docter (“Monsters, Inc.,” “Up”) has taken audiences to unique and imaginative places. In Disney•Pixar’s original movie “ Inside Out,” he will take us to the most extraordinary location of all—inside the mind.

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.

  1. Wow. I’ve been following your blog ever since the PIXAR theory got popular…but if this takes place in real time, 5 years after Toy Story 3 (or slightly more) could this be an older Bonnie? From what is known so far, how will this fit into the theory?

    • This girls name is Riley, and Bonnie, is Bonnie’s real name, but my thoughts are this is boo.

        • Besides, if Riley really is Bonnie, then we should be seeing all of the toys, not to mention the special changes made in order for that to happen.

    • As someone already pointed out, the girl in this movie is named Riley. Also, Bonnie lives in Tri-County, California. Riley, on the other hand, is a girl from Minnesota who has to move to San Francisco, California.

And I don’t know how or even IF this movie will fit into my theory. I honestly can’t say a thing about that until the movie comes out.

      • I think it does fit in the theory, we will see, but I can guarantee that it IS in your theory. I think so because the same concept could be done in any Pixar character and still create an interesting story, like um, coughs Randall.

Speaking of Randall, could Randall in the Pixar detective be Randall in Monsters Inc? It could be alleged, but I could make out the details fine.

      • It possibly could, is it just me or does her mother looks Like mrs. Incredible? Allso the bluehaired woman looks Like marge simpsons With short hair 😉

        • Ive noticed a bit more for my comment 😉 marge simpsons Allso wears a green dress… And they are 5 people right? 3 girls and 2 men! Like the simpsons family!

      • Well, maybe some humans was able to pass trought the door of the Monsters, they conquested the world again, but the magic around this world made their emotions alive….

  2. Fun Fact, I have a hobby for checking box office rivalries and results since June 21, 2013, when Monsters University and World War Z came out in the same date.
Inside Out would come out on the anniversary weekend of me doing box office rivalries!

    • Call me stupid for not knowing, but which movie won? Both were good, but very different lol

      • Monsters University won, WWZ came closer than expected, Man of Steel got third

  3. About the theory I think the video itself said it everything is run by the emotions specially in the theory

  4. This looks like such a good movie! I love how the trailer began with clips from various Pixar movies. I can’t wait to see it! 🙂

    • I feel the same. The clips from the previous Pixar movies brought me so much nostalgia! <3

  5. I think that Riley can be Boo, and maybe she goes by her middle name or something

  6. Probably shows how the mind of the characters from PIXAR. I can imagine fish versions of these emotions living inside Dory’s mind, trying find her memories.

  7. It is a great trailer ’cause I think the guys in the minds are funny, and how they kinda control them! I think it’s gonna be a great movie! Good Luck on it!!

  8. The main problem with Riley being boo, as I see it, is that they look nothing alike. Just saying.
