The Pixar Detective, Chapter 9: Our Doom

Hey everyone! Welcome to The Pixar Detective, a serial novel I put together based on the Pixar Theory. The following is a fictional story that explains the theory that all of the Pixar movies are connected and exist within the same universe, using original characters and artwork. The story answers a lot of questions you may have about this theory, but through its own ongoing narrative.

The story originally launched in April, and we’ve recently completed Part 1!

It is available as an iBook on iTunes, which you can check out here. If you can’t use iBooks, you can also download the PDF version.

Once you’re finished, check back to our Table of Contents, where we’ll be continuing the story through Part 2. A new chapter is released every two weeks on Tuesdays. And please be sure to leave your feedback in the comments for us to read through. Enjoy!

PREVIOUSLY, ON THE PIXAR DETECTIVE.

In their continued search for Mary, our heroes found themselves within the secretive (and dangerous) government facility known as the Hexagon. But Stevin and his new friend, the monster known as Mr. Sumner, have been captured by the facility’s head madman, the Maestro.

Meanwhile, Wallaby decided to go his own way by sneaking into the Hexagon by himself. Unfortunately, he was discovered by the strange, seemingly unstable agent known as Flo. With a few strategic lies, Wallaby convinced Flo that he is also an agent, and she agreed to escort him inside.

Also inside the facility is the mysterious “super” known as Sadie. A girl who has the power of “Dominion.” But what is this power and why is she important? We’re about to find out.

  1. Wait a minute, isn’t flo the name of the crazy fish “sister” in finding nemo who’s name happens to be DEB?! This just keeps getting better and better!

  2. LOVE IT!! I see an enormous Chapter 10 that contains a plot twist that will change EVERYTHING!!

Also, my title suggestion is “Hexagon’s Plan”

    • Chapter 10 is in fact pretty massive. At this point, Part 1 is almost big enough to be its own book in a trilogy.

      • Part 1 is exciting, it explains the Superheroes’ Origins. Will Part 2 will be about BnL and the Animal Uprising/War as stated in your theory? I have a lot of questions to ask about this one.
        Good Luck on Chapter 10.

  3. Oooh Flo’s codename is Deborah? As in, Deb? I KNEW I was right about the fish names!
Now I’m desperate to know more about the connections between them. My guess is that some magic or technology or superhero power goes wrong and turns them into fish somehow. Or goes right, because someone intended to turn them into fish. Also, time travel will have to be involved somehow. As well as somehow getting to Australia.
    The mystery just keeps growing.
(And yes, I’m way more focused on the fish thing than anything involving Mary… I’m such a bad reader. I’m sorry.)

  4. Page 6: “It was only seconds away from smashing Stevin and Wallaby against the ceiling.”

I think Wallaby should be Mr. Sumners in this sentence. Wallaby wasn’t in the same room with Stevin at this point. That’s the only thing that I found wrong.

I wonder if that door could take Wallaby back to the warehouse in 2014?

I guess I’ll find out next chapter (I hope).

    • Ah, thanks for the correction! It’s hard to have a chapter where those two aren’t together. And yes, you’ll find out in the next chapter 😀

  5. Oh! Finding Nemo’s fish’s names! Now that I think of it, those fishes are supposed to be in Australia, where Mary wants to go…. hmmmm….

    • I’m loving how everyone managed to get that…haha I need to be more subtle I suppose.

      • What if the government send her as a spy in Australia but as a fish to avoid suspicion, but she goes crazy after being locked in a tank for too long or for being a fish too long?

  6. So many questions! I hope they are answered soon! This story is so clever!

    • This is a made-up narrative with made-up characters and made-up imagery that explains how all of the Pixar films fit together and how they all take place quordle in the same world. Many issues you could have regarding this theory are addressed in the tale, but they are addressed within the context of the story’s continuous storyline.

  7. I’ve just started reading The Pixar Detective (I’m on issue 4) and I’m loving it but I have a giant adition to the theory. From what I understand about The Good Dinossaur it’s about a world where dinossaurs and humans live the same. Now this could be part of the timeline in two ways. The first one is that it’s set in the past and the story is that the humans killed all the dinossaurs and took over the earth. Everything that happens after is retribution for what they did. The other way that it can be seen is that it’s actually set in the future after Monsters Inc. The monsters have transformed into dinossaurs and the humans are living with them. The movie will probably be about the humans and the dinossaurs being in conflict and by the end they will have peace. If my prediction is true and we go with the second idea of it being in the future then the whole story ends up being about the humans and the animals living in equality. The robots would probably end up joining them and eventually all lives would be treated the same. If all the Pixar Shorts are also part of the universe then I think that Partly Cloudy could be how the humans returned to the planet. A race sentient cloud like beings started to repopulate earth and the humans came back.

  8. Hold on a second, isn’t Deb the name of the wacky fish “sister” in Finding Nemo? Her name is flo coreball! I can’t believe how much better this is becoming!
